Hello,

My name is Chloe Schildhause. I’m a writer + actor + filmmaker based in Los Angeles.

I’ve written, produced, and performed in a number of short films — Rage (2019), Olsen (2022), Girl Control (2023), and Mountain Bois (2023). I’m currently working on my short film, Pool House!

I was raised in Lake Tahoe where I lived in the woods for moons on end. It was there that I penned my first works in the late ‘90s — stories of diaries who come to life and torment the people who write in them; a novel about a boy who dies on Space Mountain and is best friends with a blind girl with a rice allergy; tales of a sad lobster at Vons who just wants to be adopted. Et cetera.

After graduating from North Tahoe High School I moved to San Francisco where I attended USF as a Media Studies major (“the most important major” — Professor Andrew Goodwin). I also lived in New York. Initially to intern at Nylon. I spent some summers in London too — I took classes at the London College of Fashion and interned at British Vogue and Dazed & Confused. I went to Columbia Journalism School. Spent a good deal of time reporting on the breast milk industrial complex (article published in my independent magazine, DECADES) and the eating disorder, orthorexia (published in Health Magazine).

I have written for Vanity Fair, Nylon, Dazed & Confused, Uprox, Vice, Munchies, The Rumpus, The Jonestown Report, San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Bold Italic, and Refinery29. Now I live in Los Angeles. I have sketch and improv training from UCB. And study acting with Desean Terry at The Last Acting Studio. The Brady Bunch Movie is forever my bible, my heart, my inspiration.Take a look around my website for links to my articles, acting reels, and more info on my short films!
